The RNFBC raises money for bursaries for students who are enrolled in basic, post-basic, re-entry and graduate education programs in nursing. Unfortunately, at this time our bursary program does not include applications for specialty courses due to the overwhelming need for bursaries awarded to students in degree programs at accredited colleges and universities in BC and at out-of-province institutions.
We are often asked what determines the amount/number of bursaries awarded each year. Here’s how – when a bursary is established, the funds are invested and based on annual returns and board approval, an amount for each bursary to be awarded is determined. Our standard award at the present time is $1000 and these are granted on a random basis so every applicant has a chance of receiving an award.
Our Available Bursaries
Our bursaries are divided into those available to Student Nurses or Registered Nurses or both and some have specific eligibility requirements while others have no specific requirements other than the basic criteria for all applications. It is important that you familiarize yourself with bursaries in your applicable category before proceeding to complete your application.
