Changing Lives
Shaping Tomorrow

Dear Community Members & Supporters,

As we celebrate National Nursing Week 2024 and reflect on the past year, we’re reminded of the invaluable contributions nurses make to our health and well-being. Over the past five years, there has been a growing recognition of the essential roles nurses provide in our communities. We extend our deepest gratitude to the thousands of nurses across BC who tirelessly provide the care and support we rely on.

Nurses continue to be more than healthcare professionals, they are caregivers, teachers, managers, mentors, administrators, and researchers, touching every phase of our lives from pre-conception to end-of-life care. Their dedication and expertise are the cornerstones of our healthcare system, shaping the health of present and future generations.

Nursing remains a demanding yet deeply rewarding profession, characterized by rigorous education and practice standards. Despite the challenges they face, nurses embody compassion and excellence in all they do.

As we navigate the evolving healthcare landscape, nurses remain pivotal in transforming lives and shaping tomorrow’s healthcare environment. This reality reinforces our commitment to supporting nursing students at all levels with financial aid, ensuring they have the necessary resources to excel in their education and practice. However, our financial resources are increasingly stretched, posing challenges to maintaining the same level of support.

In response to these challenges, the RNFBC Board reaffirms our commitment to supporting nursing education.

Please consider joining us in supporting the 2024 RNFBC Bursary Boost which has two main priorities: the Indigenous Nurse Education Fund or Bursary Boost which will be applied at the Board discretion to increase the number of bursaries we are able to distribute. Your contribution can make a difference in the lives of nurses and the patients they serve. Together, let’s build a better healthcare system in B.C. by Changing Lives and Shaping Tomorrow. With deep gratitude to our Nurses & those who support them,

Pat Semeniuk
