Welcome to our Reaching New Heights Together campaign!
The Registered Nurses Foundation of BC (RNFBC) works to address financial costs associated with nursing education through the provision of bursaries. In doing so, we help alleviate some of the pressures on these nurses and the health care system. In these challenging times, this support increasingly important.
At RNFBC, we believe in the power of community to make a positive impact. We are inviting you to support our student nurses as they strive to reach the peak that will complete their education and ensure more nurses are available to provide care to you and your loved ones. To achieve this, we have put together the Reaching New Heights Together campaign!
Our Challenge:
We have many more students seeking support for their educational costs than we can meet. Further, our bursaries are typically $1,000 which, while helpful, does not go a long way to covering even tuition.
Our Goal:
Our goal is to raise a minimum $20,000 to ensure that we can provide more and higher value bursaries.
Why it Matters:
The demand for nurses is rising. Currently, on any given day in BC there are at least 1,000 nursing vacancies. we have all witnessed how the nursing shortage impacts services across the healthcare spectrum from babies to seniors:
Lack of Nurse Practitioners for Primary Care
This affects you, your loved ones – everyone in BC.
The need to help educate new nurses and provide a higher level of education for current nurses has never been greater.
How You Can Help:
You can make a lasting difference by donating to the campaign and spreading the word to your friends, family and colleagues to ask them to take up the challenge. Each trip to the mountain peak will bring us closer to our goal.
Donate From Your Heart:
The Reaching New Heights Together campaign is asking for a modest monthly donation such as the value of a lift pass at Grouse Mountain, Sun Peaks Resort or Whistler:
Grouse Mountain Lift Ticket:
$75 = $6 a month
Sun Peaks Resort Lift Ticket:
$169 = $14 a month
Whistler Blackcomb 4-Day Pass:
$425 = $35 a month
Or any amount that fits the budget. Even a one-time gift is truly appreciated and will make a difference.
