The Registered Nurses Foundation of BC is seeking a designated accountant to join the Board of the Registered Nurses Foundation of British Columbia (RNFBC) and take on the role of Treasurer

This is a volunteer position that, with the Finance Committee, oversees the financial matters of the charity in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements. You will be joining a vibrant organization that awards bursaries annually to student nurses in support of their educational goals. The Treasurer is part of the RNFBC Executive Committee and reports to the RNFBC Board of Directors regarding the financial health of the organization and recommends action as appropriate. The Treasurer role is supported by a contracted administrative team including a designated accountant, administration, investment counsel and additional support as required. An audit is undertaken annually by an independent firm in British Columbia. All accounting duties are performed by the administrative accountant monthly and at year end, including audit preparation.

Hours per month are estimated at 12-15, with little or no activity during the summer months.
